March 22 is Terry Give Back Day, when the Terry Community unites to make a difference through acts of service and philanthropy.

2026 is our fourth year to celebrate of the many ways that Terry Scholars give back, and the Terry Community demonstrated its commitment to making an impact in a variety of ways!

Our 2026 Goals:

322 Examples of Giving Back
Terry Scholars were invited to report their acts of service done in honor of Terry Give Back Day. Both service reports and donations to the Terry Scholars Fund counted toward our goal.

Examples of Giving Back from at least 35 States
Terry Scholars participated from 26 states + Mexico in 2025, so we wanted to push ourselves to broaden the reach of Give Back Day and increase participation from Terrys in as many places as possible.

Examples of Giving Back from all Terry Universities and Award Years
Our goal was to record service or donations from all 13 universities and all award years from 1987 to 2025.

All Terry Give Back Day goals are meant to motivate Scholars to participate if their school, award year, location, or any combination thereof are not yet represented. The goals are also meant to encourage Scholars to invite their peers to join the community for Give Back Day, providing them the ability celebrate with everyone and invite others to join them as well.

Our 2026 Outcome:

584 Examples of Giving Back
Terry Scholars packed hundreds of meals for those in need, cleaned up parks, painted houses, tutored children, provided pro-bono services, comforted shelter animals, and much more. Collectively, we honored the Terry Legacy by giving back to the world around us and using our strengths to provide opportunities for others.

“I helped with OKC Skyline’s farm by repotting seedlings, flattening the crops to prepare for replanting, and making compost.”

Terrys participated from 25 states, 4 countries, and 3 continents!

“To celebrate Terry Give Back Day this year, I organized a workday at Blucher Park, a nature park in Corpus Christi. This event brought together two organizations: The Audubon Outdoor Club of Corpus Christi and Hanson Professional Services (my employer). We performed trail maintenance, brush clearing, watered native plants, and installed a bench.

The nature park is vital habitat for birds migrating through the Coastal Bend. 17 adults and 5 youth contributed ~76 person hours for this event. The weather was great and we’re looking forward to making this an annual tradition!”

We can’t wait for next year!
