Terry Connect is the official networking platform, for Terry Scholars!
For a number of years, the Terry Foundation offered the Terry Assistance Program (TAP) as a resource for current students and Terry Scholar Alumni to connect and network. Terry Alumni joined the TAP List to become mentors for their fellow Scholars, who could search the TAP List based on a number of criteria.
Whether you’d just like to stay in touch or you’re interested in finding or becoming a mentor, we hope you will take advantage of your Terry Connect account.
**Please note that Terry Connect is our networking platform and, for data privacy assurance, is currently not connected to your Terry Portal profile. Current students will still need to manage their scholarship, and Alumni are encouraged to update their profiles through the Terry Portal.

Profile Fields
All Users must complete the mandatory “Terry Foundation” fields, which display your Terry University, Scholarship Award Year, Highest Degree Achieved, Major(s), and Career/ Primary Specialization. Please provide information for any degrees earned while on the Terry Scholarship. You also have the option to fill in work and other education fields for degrees not earned while on the Terry Scholarship.
Share additional information about your involvement in clubs and causes, explain what you hope to get out of your participation on Terry Connect, and add search keywords that others can use to find you in the Directory.
Control how people can find and contact you on the platform.
Terry Directory
The Directory on Terry Connect is a great tool for Terrys at any stage of their educational or professional journeys, and it strengthens our Terry Family by facilitating relationships across schools and Scholar classes. Everyone has indicated how they would like to use the platform- offering or seeking help and mentoring.
You can identify users who are willing to help others on the platform by the icon displayed over their profile in the Directory.
When you look at an individual profile, you will be able to see the different ways that the person is willing to help.
Remember- every person who has “willing to help” on their Terry Connect profile has done so (and in most cases, enthusiastically) because they want to be contacted by fellow Terrys. You don’t need to feel nervous about reaching out; each of your potential contacts was once in a similar situation. Be professional and respectful, and you may be rewarded with a lasting connection within the Terry community and within your profession. Please only request help in areas that each individual has listed on their profile.
Feed Updates
Users can also post updates, interesting articles, and questions for fellow Terrys on the newsfeed. Please note that Terry Connect is meant to be a networking platform, not a social media platform. Memes, political debates, and other content that is deemed unrelated to professional networking are not allowed. Unprofessional or inappropriate content will be promptly removed.
Jobs & Opportunities Board
Users can post job or internship opportunities for fellow Terry Scholars on the Terry Connect Jobs & Opportunities Board.
For an opportunity to be included on Terry Connect, it must be connected to a Terry Scholar in some way. Examples:
- A Terry Scholar currently works in the department or at the hiring company/ institution
- A Terry Scholar is the direct supervisor or direct hiring contact
Groups
Join or create a group for fellow Terrys with common interests. If you submit a request to create a new group, please allow up to 48 hours for approval.
The Foundation reserves the right to review, consolidate, and delete groups when necessary or appropriate.
Terry Business Marketplace
Users can post information about their business and even provide special offers exclusively for fellow Terry Scholars.
Please note the following guidelines for the Business Marketplace
- Only Terry-owned and operated businesses are permitted in the Business Marketplace
- Seasonal or fundraising sales initiatives are not permitted
- Recruitment for Multi-level Marketing is not permitted
The Terry Foundation reserves the right to remove any postings that are found to be misleading, inappropriate, or otherwise not in compliance with the Terry Connect Terms of Use.
Expectations and Guidelines

The Terry Foundation is proud to provide this framework for Scholar Alumni to mentor current Scholars in their career fields and to network with each other. While several Scholar and Alumni job placements and internships have been the direct result of contacts found on the former TAP list and on Terry Connect, you should NOT contact Terry Connect users and ask for a job or internship directly. All willing mentors have identified the specific ways they are willing to help; please respect these choices and only request help in the specific areas it is offered.
By using Terry Connect, you commit to the following:
- I understand that Terry Connect is for use by Terry Scholars ONLY, and I will not share or use the personal contact information it contains for commercial purposes, solicitation, or mass communications of any kind.
- I pledge to conduct myself in a professional manner when using Terry Connect.
- I pledge to be respectful of my mentors’ time as working professionals. I acknowledge that I must be patient and understand that some Alumni may be willing and able to invest more time than others.
- I will NOT ask any Terry Connect Participant for special consideration or favors because I am a fellow Terry Scholar.
- I will NOT ask a Terry Connect Participant for a job or for inside information about open positions with their company unless they have stated on their profile that they are willing to do so.
- I will inform the Foundation immediately if I observe someone using Terry Connect inappropriately.
Privacy and Security
