Terry Traditional Scholarship
The Terry Traditional Scholarship, or Freshman Scholarship, is a full ride, last dollar scholarship that covers up to eight semesters. It is awarded to Texas high school seniors who have been accepted for admission to one of the Terry-affiliated public universities in Texas.
How to Apply
Applications for the Terry Scholarship are available only from the universities affiliated with the Terry Scholarship Program and are not available from the Foundation or from high schools.

Traditional Scholarship Qualifications
Academic Achievement
Applicants must demonstrate strong academic abilities, as evidenced by grades and class rank.
Financial Need
Applicants must demonstrate financial need, as evidenced by the completion of the FAFSA.
College Admission
Applicants must be admitted to a Terry-affiliated college or university as a full-time entering Freshman student for the upcoming Fall Semester.
On-Campus Residency
Applicants must apply and commit to residing on campus for the first year of school.
Demonstrated Leadership
Applicants must have a record of leadership in school and in the community.
Citizenship and Residency
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a Permanent Resident and meet Texas residency requirements. Candidates must also qualify for in-state tuition.
High School Graduate
Applicants must have graduated from an accredited Texas high school or homeschool. Applicants who have taken a gap year immediately following their graduation from high school are not eligible for consideration.

Applicants must be nominated by one of the eleven Terry-affiliated Texas public universities

The Terry Scholarship Interview
Terry Scholarship affiliates at each university review applications and nominate candidates for interviews with the Foundation. All candidates who wish to compete for a Terry Scholarship must meet with a Terry Interview Panel.
