Transfer Scholarship
The Terry Transfer Scholarship is awarded to non-traditional students who are transferring from a Texas community college or university and are working toward their first baccalaureate degree. These students must have been accepted for admission to one of the Terry-affiliated public universities in Texas.

Transfer Qualifications

Academic Achievement
Applicants must exhibit strong academic abilities (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA).

Demonstrated Leadership
Applicants must have a record of leadership in school and in the community.

Financial Need
Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

20 Years or Older
Applicants must be at least 20 years of age on May 1 of the year in which the application is submitted.

Citizenship and Residency
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a Permanent Resident and meet Texas residency requirements. Candidates must also qualify for in-state tuition and for federal financial aid assistance.

Texas Residency
Applicants must be current continuous residents of the State of Texas for at least 3 years at the time of application.

Transferable Credits
Applicants must have completed at least 30 hours of transferable, post-high school credit in residence at a Texas college or university at the time of application

College Admission
Applicants must have been granted admission to a Terry-affiliated college or university for the Summer or Fall immediately following the application deadline. They must be admitted as a full-time Transfer student, for the purpose of completing a first baccalaureate degree.

Terry School Nomination
Applicants must be nominated by one of the Terry-affiliated Texas public universities that currently offer the Terry Transfer scholarship. An applicant who has previously interviewed for a Terry Scholarship and was not selected, whether as a traditional or transfer applicant, is not thereafter eligible for a Terry Scholarship. An applicant who is currently attending, or has previously attended, a Terry-affiliated university will not be considered for a Terry Foundation Transfer Scholarship.
Application Process
Applications for the Terry Transfer Scholarship are available only from the universities and are not available from the Foundation or from community colleges. Terry Scholarship affiliates at each university review applications and nominate candidates for interviews with the Foundation.
