The Terry Transfer Scholarship is awarded to non-traditional students who are transferring from a Texas community college or university and are working toward their first baccalaureate degree. These students must have been accepted for admission to one of the following Terry-affiliated public universities in Texas.

- Sam Houston State University
- The University of Texas- Arlington
- The University of Texas- El Paso
Applicants must exhibit strong academic abilities (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA).
Applicants must have a record of leadership in school and in the community.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need, as evidenced by the completion of the FAFSA.
20 Years or Older
Applicants must be at least 20 years of age on May 1 of the year in which the application is submitted.
Citizenship and Residency
Applicants must meet U.S. and Texas residency and citizenship requirements sufficient to qualify for in-state tuition and for federal financial aid assistance.
Applicants must be current continuous residents of the State of Texas for at least 3 years at the time of application.
Applicants must have completed at least 30 hours of transferable, post-high school credit in residence at a Texas college or university at the time of application
Applicants must have been granted admission to a Terry-affiliated college or university for the Summer or Fall immediately following the application deadline. They must be admitted as a full-time Transfer student, for the purpose of completing a first baccalaureate degree.
Terry School Nomination
Applicants must be nominated by one of the Terry-affiliated Texas public universities that currently offer the Terry Transfer scholarship.
Applications for the Terry Transfer Scholarship are available only from the universities and are not available from the Foundation or from community colleges. Terry Scholarship affiliates at each university review applications and nominate candidates for interviews with the Foundation.
