For New Alumni
Your Terry Story isn’t over!
Now that you have graduated from the Terry Scholarship Program, you are a member of the Terry Scholar Alumni Association! We look forward to your involvement as you fulfill your pledge to “Give Back” to the Foundation. There are many ways to stay involved and keep in touch, no matter where you plan to go next. Please visit the Give Back page to learn about the ways you can stay involved and strengthen our Terry Community. We can’t wait to see what your next chapter has in store for you!
For more information on staying in touch and involved after you complete our program, please contact Amber Masso, Director of Communications and Alumni Engagement, at email@example.com
So What’s Next?
Update your information in the Terry Portal.
If you haven’t logged into the Terry Portal since you completed the Terry program, you will notice that things look different now that you’re a Terry Alumna/Alumnus. Be sure to update your profile with your post-college contact information. Your mailing address determines which Terry Alumni Chapter will be able to send you communications (if an active Chapter is located near you). An updated email address will ensure that you continue to receive communications from the Foundation regarding special announcements, banquets, picnics, interviews, and Alumni Socials.
Please be sure to add terryfoundation.org and terryscholars.org to your primary email’s “safe sender” list. Be sure to check your SPAM and Promotions folders; our Alumni emails may be sorted there initially.
Join Terry Connect.
Terry Connect is official networking platform. If you have not already done so, activate your profile to join this exclusive online community of Terry Scholars around the world. You can find mentors in your field and act as a mentor to our Terry students, reconnect with former Terry classmates, and share updates about your life and career.
Join or start a TSAA Chapter.
The Terry Scholar Alumni Association (TSAA) has chapters in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and West Texas. These chapters are run by Terry Alumni volunteers and work to connect with current Scholars, host social events, and participate in service activities. If you are living in or moving to one of these areas, joining a chapter is an ideal way to make friends, to reconnect with fellow Terrys, and to give back to the Foundation. If a chapter does not exist in your area, you can contact the Foundation to request information about getting one started or about hosting a social with other Terrys near you!
Volunteer to attend Foundation events.
The Terry Foundation invites Alumni to attend Fall Banquets, Alumni Luncheons, Spring Picnics, special socials, and award ceremonies for new Terry Scholars. Some of these events are exclusive to Terry Scholars, and some of them are open to family and friends of Terry Scholars. These events are shared on the Terry website, in Terry Connect, on social media, and via our email list. Your involvement in Foundation and TSAA Chapter events will be considered if you ever request to serve on an interview panel or apply to join the Terry Alumni Advisory Board.
Volunteer to serve on a Terry Interview Panel
If you are interested in serving on a Terry Interview Panel, please make sure your contact information is updated in the Terry Portal and contact us to indicate your interest in serving on an interview panel for the upcoming interview cycle. We will send an email to all interested Alumni in November with instructions for providing your Terry Interview availability. We will send a list of all interview sites and dates, and you will be able to indicate your availability for all panels. Once the deadline for submissions passes, we will build the panels and inform the chosen participants of their official panel dates and city. If you do not receive our invitation email by mid-November, please reach out to the Foundation for the link to our sign-up form.
Please note that filling out our availability form does NOT guarantee you a position on an interview panel. We consider a number of factors when building our panels. If you are not chosen to serve on a panel in a given year, please continue to express interest. We make an effort to provide the opportunity to new people every year.
Apply to join the Terry Scholar Alumni Advisory Board
Terry Alumni who have been out of the Terry Scholarship Program at least 3 years are invited to apply for a position on the Terry Scholar Alumni Advisory Board (TSAAB). Advisory Board members serve 3 year terms and work closely with the Foundation President and the Director of Alumni Engagement to strengthen the Terry Community.
