For New Alumni

Your Terry Story isn’t over!

Now that you have graduated from the Terry Scholarship Program, you are a member of the Terry Scholar Alumni Association! We look forward to your involvement as you fulfill your pledge to “Give Back” to the Foundation. There are many ways to stay involved and keep in touch, no matter where you plan to go next.

So What’s Next?

If you stay in touch with the Foundation and give back your time and resources to current students and fellow Terry Alumni, you will have opportunities to serve in ways that best suit your availability and goals. Terry Alumni may choose to give back by:

Those who wish to become more involved as leaders in the Terry Community eventually have the opportunity to apply for the Terry Scholar Alumni Advisory Board and the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Stay in Touch

Be sure to update your profile with your post-college contact information by taking our Last Semester Survey or logging into the Terry Portal. Your mailing address determines which Terry Alumni Chapter will be able to send you communications (if an active Chapter is located near you). An updated email address will ensure that you continue to receive communications from the Foundation regarding special announcements, banquets, picnics, interviews, and Alumni Socials.

Join or Update Terry Connect

Terry Connect is our official networking platform. If you have not already done so, activate your profile to join this exclusive online community of Terry Scholars around the world. You can find mentors in your field and act as a mentor to our Terry students, reconnect with former Terry classmates, and share updates about your life and career. Be sure to keep your Terry Connect profile updated!

Join or Host Virtual Events

Terry Alumni can host virtual events to connect with other Terry Scholars and to share their knowledge and experiences. The Terry Foundation handles all promotional and technical aspects of these events. If you would like more information about hosting one of these events, please contact Amber Masso at amasso@terryfoundation.org

Volunteer to Attend Foundation Events

The Terry Foundation invites Alumni to attend Fall Banquets, Alumni Luncheons, Spring Picnics, special socials, and award ceremonies for new Terry Scholars. Some of these events are exclusive to Terry Scholars, and some of them are open to family and friends of Terry Scholars. These events are shared on the Terry website, in Terry Connect, on social media, and via our email list. Your involvement in Foundation and TSAA Chapter events will be considered if you ever request to serve on an interview panel or apply to join the Terry Alumni Advisory Board.

Join or Start a TSAA Chapter

The Terry Scholar Alumni Association (TSAA) has chapters in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, El Paso/New Mexico, Houston, and West Texas/Panhandle. These chapters are run by Terry Alumni volunteers and work to connect with current Scholars, host social events, and participate in service activities. If you are living in or moving to one of these areas, joining a chapter is an ideal way to make friends, to reconnect with fellow Terrys, and to give back to the Foundation. If a chapter does not exist in your area, you can contact the Foundation to request information about getting one started or about hosting a social with other Terrys near you!

Volunteer to Serve on a Terry Interview Panel

If you are interested in serving on a Terry Interview Panel, please make sure your contact information is updated in the Terry Portal. We will send an email to our general Alumni Contact List in November with instructions for providing your Terry Interview availability. We will send a list of all interview sites and dates, and you will be able to indicate your availability for all panels. Once the deadline for submissions passes, we will build the panels and inform the chosen participants of their official panel dates and city. If you do not receive our invitation email by mid-November, please reach out to the Foundation for the link to our sign-up form.

Please note that filling out our availability form does NOT guarantee you a position on an interview panel. We consider a number of factors when building our panels. If you are not chosen to serve on a panel in a given year, please continue to express interest. We make an effort to provide the opportunity to new people every year.
